Welcome to 8th Grade!

Hello!  My name is David Matlock. I teach 8th grade science.  Education has been my focus for more than 20 years.  I received my Bachelor's degree from Samford University, my Masters degree from the University of Tennessee, and my Education Specialist degree from Lincoln Memorial University.  I have been blessed with many wonderful students throughout the years, and I am looking forward to a great year with you! 

 

In addition to my wife BJ, I have three wonderful sons; Jon David, Clay, and Scott.  Their awesome wives are Tiffanie, Brittni, and Amy.   They have enriched my life and have given me hope for the future with my five grandchildren; Kendall, Jensen, Barrett, Eden, and Boston.

 

I have recently discovered a love of fishing in the Gulf.  I have always enjoyed ocean fishing, and fishing in general; but recently, I find myself headed south whenever I have extended breaks.  The wide variety of fish and the challenge of trying to land the "big one," keeps me going back for more.
