Mrs. Parson's Biography
Hello! I am Christina Parson, and I am proud to be an Exceptional Education Teacher. I am an advocate for neurodiverse students, and have a passion for teaching ALL students with different learning styles. I love to incorporate Universal Design for Learning to reach all students, and set them up for success. I serve as both a Math/Reading Intervention Teacher and Inclusion Teacher here at MMS.
Building positive relationships where students belong and are supported are keys to a successful learning environment. I intend to do just that! Teaching has been a long term goal for me in the past, and now that I have reached that goal, I am determined to help students reach theirs!
I attended all Madisonville schools, and a proud graduate of Sequoyah High School. Afterwards, I attended Cleveland State Community College, and graduated from Tennessee Wesleyan with my Bachelor of Science in Accounting and General Management. I worked in RTI at Madisonville Intermediate School for four years, with the last two years attending the University of Tennessee, Knoxville for my teaching license. I obtained my Master's degree in Special Education from UTK in 2024 through the Grow Your Own Apprenticeship Program, and now teaching my third year here, at Madisonville Middle School. This journey has been a blessing altogether by teaching and growing students from the community I learned and grew up in myself.
Outside of the classroom, my family and I love to travel to national parks, hike, go to UT football games, hunting, and camping! My husband, Javin, and I have two children, Wesley and Claira, and three dogs, Harley, Ellie Mae, and Karma. I love coffee, diet coke, sunflowers, winter, Easter, Christmas, and family!!!
